Our Traditions

๐Ÿ’ Away Days
When the Winterhawks hit the road, so do we. The Hawkey Flock organizes fan convoys and tailgates for select away games, turning enemy territory into our second home. Whether itโ€™s a short drive up I-5 or a jaunt through the snowy plains of Saskatchewan, we roll deep, hoist the flag, and bring the Rose City spirit wherever the team plays. Canโ€™t leave the nest? We also organize local watch parties so no one misses the action. Whether you're cheering from the road or a local pub, you're part of the family.

๐ŸŽ Collectible Button Giveaways
Every game is a chance to celebrate, and our collectible button giveaways have become a signature tradition. Designed uniquely and handmade for each event or theme night, these buttons are a fun way to mark the seasonโ€™s journey โ€” and yes, fans love to collect them all.

๐Ÿงฅ Patch Jackets
Nothing says fandom like a jacket full of personality. Many members of The Hawkey Flock sport custom patch jackets, each telling its own story with unique designs, fan-made art, and team spirit stitched into every seam. No two jackets are the same โ€” just like no two fans are.

๐Ÿ† I-5alry Cup
New this year, our friendly (but fierce) rivalry with the fans of the Seattle Thunderbirds and Everett Silvertips takes on new meaning: the I-5alry Cup. The teams may determine the winner, but the Cup belongs to the fans; building camaraderie through rivalry. Bragging rights are on the line โ€” and we donโ€™t hand them over easily.

๐ŸŽ‰ Cheering Displays
We bring the noise โ€” and the color. From flags waving proudly in the stands to boom whackers echoing through the VMC, our cheering displays are impossible to miss. Itโ€™s all about creating an electric, unforgettable atmosphere that pumps up the team and the crowd.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Specialized Merchandise
To keep our group thriving and self-sustained, we offer exclusive Hawkey Flock merchandise. Designed by fans, for fans, every item helps fund our operations โ€” and lets you rep your love for the Winterhawks with pride and style.

Our History

Founded in 2022 by Dana and Christian Trout, The Hawkey Flock was born out of a deep love for the Portland Winterhawks and the unique spirit of Portland sports fans. What started as a small idea between two passionate supporters quickly grew into a vibrant community with one simple goal: to celebrate the Winterhawks and have fun doing it.

Originally named The Glass Kettle with a nod to the unique arena that surrounds the action, The Hawkey Flock is more than just a fan group โ€” itโ€™s a gathering place for those who live and breathe hockey in the Rose City. Our mission is to enhance the fan experience, welcome new supporters, and keep the energy high, both in and out of the VMC.
