🏒 BRING THE NOISE • INDIVIDUAL GRIT & COMMUNITY PRIDE • LET'S GO HAWKS! 🏒

Welcome back to The Hawkey Squawk! Scorelines only tell half the story. While we didn't get the bounces on the scoreboard over the weekend, hockey is built on growth, grit, and work ethic. In this edition, we’re shining a spotlight on individual character and what's coming up next in The Glass Palace!

🔥 PLAYER OF THE WEEK: LUKE WILFLEY If you want to talk about high energy and heart, look no further than Luke Wilfley. Wilfley had an outstanding weekend, bringing total intensity to every shift. From sticking up for his teammates in multiple fights to driving the forecheck and laying heavy hits, he set a physical tone that kept the Flock roaring! 📺 WATCH: LUKE WILFLEY's SCRAPS

🚨 RESILIENCE REWARDED: DAVID HOY'S RETURN & FIRST GOAL! There is no better feeling in junior hockey than seeing relentless effort pay off. After being reassigned last season, David Hoy put his head down, put in the work, and earned his way back onto the Winterhawks roster. That dedication came full circle this weekend as David buried his first goal of the season! Welcome back to the goal column, David! 📺 WATCH: DAVID HOY'S FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON

🦈 PORTLAND TO THE PROS: LUCA CAGNONI'S FIRST NHL GOAL! Former Winterhawks standout defenseman Luca Cagnoni gave us all a reason to celebrate this week! Making his mark with the San Jose Sharks, Cagnoni scored his first career NHL goal—and he did it in style with a dramatic Overtime Winner! 🪅 HISPANIC HERITAGE NIGHT & COMMUNITY PRIDE Beyond the ice, Hispanic Heritage Night at Veterans Memorial Coliseum was an incredible celebration! A huge shoutout to the talented performers of Ballet Papalotl and Woodburn High School Mariachi Band who brought energy, music, and culture to the concourse and ice. The Winterhawks organization continues to show amazing support for our local community. We are proud to stand behind a franchise that brings people together and uplifts all corners of Portland!

🚨 WHAT'S NEXT: FIRST RESPONDERS NIGHT! Mark your calendars for Friday, October 9, 2026 at 7:00 PM as our Winterhawks take on the Wenatchee Wild! It’s First Responders Night featuring a showdown theme of "Hosers vs. Five-0" (Firefighters vs. Law Enforcement)! Be sure to stay in your seats for a special intermission friendly match!
